Swimming Pool 2010 is the third part of Act 4 in Quantum Break. The events occur on July 4th, 2010 at 6:20AM, six years before the events of October 9th, 2016.

Story[]
Six years Ago[]
Jack enters the right side of the machine as he progresses backwards in time. He witnesses echoes of the past through the machine as he arrives at 6:02PM on July 4th, 2010. As he arrives, he can hear gunshots coming from the back room which he goes to investigate. He opens the door to see a woman shooting at some target, who hears a noise behind her and turns around, pointing her gun at Jack. A much older Beth Wilder is shocked to see Jack. She collapses to the ground as Jack rushes to her side and asks her what happened to her.
The scene then flash backs to October 10th 2016 as Beth walks through the machine and the door closes behind her. She calls out Jack's name but there is no response. Her only way out is to go through the machine, and as she makes her way to the end, she looks out of the machine and sees the end of time for herself. Beth explains to Jack how she fought to get back to the past, where she eventually made her way to 1999, following Paul Serene through the machine.
She continues shooting at Serene as he escapes Will's workshop. When he escapes, she notices Will on the floor in pain, with a gunshot wound to his shoulder. Discarding her weapon, Beth introduces herself to him, and Jack realizes that Beth was the reason the countermeasure was built. Jack realizes Beth has been in the past for 11 years and asks her why she didn't return. She refuses to answer, and tells Jack that they need to get ready.
Beth explains the countermeasure is at Will's workshop, and that they need to go there to get it. As they go upstairs for supplies, she explains how she gave up on the idea that Jack would come back for her, and still believes that the past cannot be changed. Jack tries to explain what happened back in 2016, though Beth doesn't wish to hear it.
Jack explains that he will try to change things, but Beth confronts him telling him that nothing can be changed and to stop trying. She explains how she doesn't know if they can win, but Jack comforts her and hands her a gun with the line "then we'll die finding out".
